My research interests arise both from my work as an IS professional, and from my teaching.  My current research project is on digitisation in the public sector, where I have experienced some of the remarkable changes enabled in recent years by GDS in the UK.  I am also interested in history of information systems, particularly as they are used in large enterprises.

I am increasingly interested in the topics of digital surveillance and computer ethics, both of which have been stimulated by conversation with colleagues, students and by reading.  I am hoping to collaborate with colleagues who are legal specialists to develop further thinking in these areas.
